
Bishop Kevin L. Betton, Sr.

Bishop Kevin L. Betton, Sr. was born in Niagara Falls, New York on August 1, 1959. He is a 1977 graduate of Trott Vocational High School. He entered the United States Army on August 2, 1977. On July 18, 1979, he married his childhood sweetheart, Lorraine (Thornton) Betton, of 38 years. They have 3 children and 6 grandchildren.
In 1985, he received his call into the ministry and began preaching the gospel. He spent time in training and mentoring for several years and served faithfully in the music and teaching ministries of the church. While in the military, he pastored for several years in Germany and South Korea.
After 20+ years of service, Bishop Betton retired from the military in 1998. In June 1998, he was led by God to begin a ministry in Hinesville, Georgia. He did obey, and since then has pastored the Cathedral of Praise Church Ministries, Inc. with total dedication, much prayer, and doctrinal teaching.
Bishop Betton has earned a Bachelors Degree in Pastoral Care, a Masters Degree in Divinity, and a Doctorate of Ministry Degree in Christian Counseling from Jacksonville Theological Seminary. His degrees included courses in varying levels of Leadership, Crisis Counseling, Church Growth, Comparative Religions, Gifts and Callings of God and Homiletics. He specializes in areas of Christian Leadership and Crisis Counseling.
In August 2009, Bishop Betton officially organized the Kingdom Fellowship of Interdependent Ministries (KFIM), where he serves as the Overseer and Founder. The Kingdom Fellowship is an interdenominational, non-profit organization established for the purpose of modeling and mentoring church leaders and their ministries to pursue faith in the spirit of excellence.
In January 2017, Bishop completed his first manuscript titled, “From Familiar to Unfamiliar Ground.” Bishop Betton has a sincere focus for outreach to the community and emphasizes such to leaders and members of the ministry. He has maintained a focus on foreign missions, prison ministry, street evangelism, and nursing home ministry. He is a visionary leader and a decisive communicator who has been prepared by God for such a time as this.
